Special Education Teacher | Twin Lake, Michigan

This contract opportunity offers meaningful work in a collaborative school environment near Twin Lake, MI, beginning October 26, 2026, and continuing through June 10, 2027. With 37.5 hours per week and multiple onsite positions available, you’ll have the chance to make a tangible impact across various elementary schools and the high school.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education and a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate (in accordance with Michigan Department of Education standards)
- Consideration for candidates actively enrolled in a state-approved teacher certification program recognized by MDE
- Prefer candidates with prior classroom experience, particularly in special education or similar settings
- Strong communication skills, adaptability, and a commitment to fostering inclusive learning environments
Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide both direct and indirect instructional support to students with disabilities in a positive, inclusive setting
- Adapt and deliver academic instruction using specialized methodologies such as phonics, repetition, and multisensory learning
- Support the development of sensory, motor, language, and cognition skills
- Implement students’ IEP goals and teach social behaviors employing positive behavior interventions
- Collaborate effectively with general education teachers, related service personnel, administrators, and families to deliver comprehensive support
- Modify curriculum and utilize assistive technologies to address individual needs
- Plan and conduct dynamic instructional activities that combine direct teaching, guided practice, and independent work
