About Bilingual Therapies
Our Promise
Our History
In 1997 Bilingual Therapies was formed by bilingual speech-language pathologists who worked in the public school system. Their mission was to support the growing number of bilingual SLPs who served our country’s growing multicultural population.
From the beginning, Bilingual Therapies has continuously strengthened our network, adding more people and creating new forums for sharing ideas, research, studies and support. In 2000, Bilingual Therapies made a commitment to continuing education, not only for our employees but for bilingual service providers all over the world. We started an annual Bilingual Symposium designed to expand the knowledge-base of practicing professionals by sharing information on current research on bilingualism and its application to service provision.
As the years went by, our team continued to find even more opportunities to network and learn. We began offering scholarships, creating partnerships with universities and developing educational opportunities for aspiring bilingual school service providers.
Today, Bilingual Therapies is proud of its legacy as a ground-breaking resource for bilingual professionals to develop skills, share with peers and grow their careers in a field they love. In addition to bilingual speech-language pathologists, our team has expanded to help other school-based professionals, like school psychologists and occupational therapists, who also work with multicultural students throughout the country.
