Three distinct positions are open, each focused on serving a unique group of learners at the same location:
- Middle School Special Education Teacher supporting students with emotional disabilities
- Middle School Special Education Teacher guiding students requiring functional/life skills instruction
- Elementary Special Education Teacher assisting students with emotional disabilities
Ideal candidates should bring passion, adaptability, and a dedication to empowering students to reach their fullest potential.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current Kansas Special Education Certification (KS SPED Cert) required
- Experience teaching students with emotional and/or behavioral challenges and/or functional/life skills needs
- Strong classroom management skills and ability to adapt instruction to varied learning styles
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
- Collaborative spirit for working alongside other educators and support staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized lesson plans tailored to each student’s IEP
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture where all students feel valued
- Track progress, maintain documentation, and communicate regularly with families and team members
- Collaborate with colleagues, related service providers, and administrators
- Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and other school initiatives
