An exciting opportunity awaits for experienced Special Education Teachers eager to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students with diverse learning needs. Beginning in late August and running through early June, this full-time contract position offers the chance to work closely with a small group of students—approximately 6 to 10—within a Setting 3 classroom focused on those with Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

As the educator in this specialized environment, you’ll have the privilege to foster growth, encourage independence, and champion academic and social success for your students. The role provides the consistency of working in a single location, supporting a tight-knit learning community throughout the school year.

Qualifications & Preferred Experience:

  • Current Minnesota teaching license with a Tier 3 or Tier 4 Special Education designation
  • Valid ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) or DCD (Developmental Cognitive Disabilities) endorsement required
  • Demonstrated experience supporting students with ASD and/or DCD in a special education setting
  • Strong commitment to differentiated instruction, positive behavior supports, and collaborative team practices
  • Effective communicator with families, support staff, and fellow educators

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement IEPs tailored to the individual strengths and needs of each student in the classroom
  • Provide direct academic, behavioral, and social-emotional instruction in alignment with district and state standards
  • Foster a safe, respectful, and engaging classroom culture that promotes inclusivity and growth
  • Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families to maximize student success
