Special Education Teacher - Rossville, GA

An exciting opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher skilled in working with young children in a supportive school environment. This contract role offers a full-time schedule and the chance to make a meaningful impact in a Special Education Pre-K program serving children ages 3 to 5 with a range of needs. The assignment begins as soon as possible and runs through May 21st, 2027.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid GaPSC Teaching Certificate with both Special and General Education Endorsements covering Pre-K age groups
• Experience or strong interest in working with early childhood or Pre-K special education populations
• Understanding of behavioral supports and positive behavior intervention strategies
• Willingness and ability to assist students who are non-verbal or have limited verbal abilities
• Comfort with tasks such as assisting with feeding, toilet training, and diapering
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, collaborating with other educators and support staff

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver instruction and support in the Special Education Pre-K classroom, adapting materials and approaches to individual student needs
• Implement IEP goals and document student progress regularly
• Provide care in daily tasks, including assistance with toileting, diapering, feeding, and self-care skills
• Support students in developing social/emotional, communication, and pre-academic skills
• Employ effective behavior management techniques appropriate for young children with varying abilities
• Collaborate closely with families, therapists, and colleagues to create a positive learning environment
