Step into a rewarding contract position supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in vibrant Resource Room settings across local elementary and high school locations near Muskegon, MI. With two positions available, you will provide direct and indirect instructional assistance to students with disabilities, fostering a nurturing, inclusive environment where every learner can thrive.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education with a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate issued by MDE, or
  • Bachelor’s degree with current enrollment in a state-approved teacher certification program recognized by the Michigan Department of Education
  • Prior classroom teaching experience in a similar setting preferred
  • Strong understanding of IEP implementation, positive behavior supports, and evidence-based instructional practices
  • Commitment to collaborative teamwork with educators, support staff, and families to promote student development

Role Responsibilities:

  • Offer instructional support tailored to individual learning needs in Resource Room contexts
  • Apply specialized strategies for developing academic, social, motor, and perceptual skills in students
  • Employ a range of teaching techniques, including multisensory learning and repetition, to boost student engagement and achievement
  • Modify and adapt curriculum using assistive technology and data-informed methods to help each student succeed
  • Address social skills and behavioral goals using positive, proactive approaches
  • Collaborate daily with general educators, administrators, and family members to ensure legal compliance and student progress

This onsite only role is set for the 2026-2027 academic year (October 26, 2026 – June 10, 2027) and offers a chance to support a diverse caseload that varies by school site within engaging Resource Room settings.
