Special Education Teacher | Molalla, Oregon
Embark on a rewarding school-based assignment shaping the lives of students with special needs for the 2024–2026 school years. This full-time, onsite contract provides the opportunity to support diverse elementary and middle school populations as a Special Education Teacher for a variety of classrooms, each with strong assistant staff and collaborative teams.
Multiple openings are available:
- Elementary Developmental Programs (2 positions): Serve 15 students each, supported by 6 assistants. Students present with behavioral, autism spectrum, and expressive communication needs.
- Elementary Behavior (Grades 3–5): Guide a classroom of 16 students, with the support of 5 assistants.
- Elementary Resource (2 locations within a 2-mile radius): Oversee the learning of 35 students, with a paraprofessional assistant at each site.
- Middle School Resource: Serve a caseload of 40 students, with the help of 2 shared assistants.
- Middle School Behavior: Lead a classroom of 15 students, assisted by 5 paraprofessionals.
All roles are 37.5 hours per week, beginning as soon as possible and extending through June 5, 2026.
Qualifications:
- Valid and active Special Education certification/license for Oregon
- Experience working with students in a range of SPED settings (developmental disabilities, behavioral, ASD, resource, etc.)
- Passion for supporting diverse learners and collaborating with support staff
- Positive professional references, with contact information for your most recent supervisor
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Provide instruction that meets a variety of behavioral, emotional, and learning needs
- Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom culture
- Lead and collaborate with paraprofessional assistants
- Communicate regularly with families, staff, and related service providers
