Special Education Teacher in Metairie, LA

Key Qualifications:
- Active Louisiana Department of Education certification, including Special Education (SPED) endorsement (required)
- Professional experience as a Special Education Teacher in K–12 environments strongly preferred
- Ability to mentor and support non-certified teachers with instructional strategies, IEP documentation, progress monitoring, and data collection
- Flexibility to work across multiple school sites with varying schedules and needs
- Must meet all district credentialing requirements, including background check, drug test, and fingerprinting
- Strong organizational skills and a commitment to educational excellence
- Not accepting candidates with temporary or provisional licenses
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a traveling special education resource, supporting various schools in the district
- Mentor and assist non-certified teachers with IEPs, instructional planning, and compliance documentation
- Provide guidance and training on effective teaching methods for diverse learners
- Help ensure accurate progress reporting and data-driven decision making
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive environment that promotes student success
