Special Education Teacher in Kenner, LA

This full-time, contract opportunity runs through the end of the academic year, with immediate start available. Key Qualifications:
- Active Louisiana Department of Education teaching certificate
- SPED (Special Education) endorsement required
- Experience working with students in special education settings
- Skilled in IEP writing, data collection, progress reporting, and implementing instructional strategies
- Willing and able to travel between assigned schools throughout the district
- Strong communication, mentorship, and organization abilities
- Ability to pass mandatory drug testing and multiple background checks per district regulations
Primary Responsibilities:
- Travel between assigned campuses within the district (caseload and schools assigned TBD)
- Mentor and support non-certified special education teachers as a subject matter expert
- Collaborate on the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Assist with data collection, progress monitoring, and reporting to ensure student success
- Share instructional best practices and facilitate the use of evidence-based interventions
- Ensure compliance with state and federal education standards
