Special Education Teacher - Juneau, AK

Qualifications & Experience:

• Active Alaska teaching license and all required certifications (must provide proof of licensure and Type C certification or corresponding documentation upon application)
• Demonstrated experience in special education classroom settings preferred
• Knowledge of IEP development, adaptation of curriculum, and implementation of individualized strategies
• Excellent communication skills and collaborative mindset
• Comfort with in-person instruction (remote work not available)

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and group instruction to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities
• Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
• Assess student progress and adapt instructional methods as needed
• Establish a positive, inclusive classroom community that supports each student’s growth
• Communicate regularly with parents, caregivers, and fellow educators
• Foster student independence, social skills, and academic achievement
