Special Education Teacher - Haysville, KS
Make a meaningful impact supporting students with significant disabilities in a dynamic contract position near Haysville, KS. Two full-time opportunities are available—one at the elementary level and the other at secondary—serving caseloads of approximately 10 students each. You'll join a collaborative educational environment dedicated to helping students with low-incidence special needs thrive.
Your expertise will play a vital role from August 11, 2026, through May 19, 2027. These positions require in-person instruction, ensuring hands-on support and continuity for students and staff alike.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid low-incidence special education license (must be current and included for consideration)
- Experience working with students with significant disabilities preferred
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to adapt to individual student needs and keep detailed records
- Committed, compassionate, and excited to engage in person
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with significant disabilities
- Deliver differentiated instruction tailored to mixed ability levels
- Collaborate with support staff, therapists, and families
- Track student progress and adjust strategies as needed
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment
- Maintain clear documentation and comply with district and legal requirements
