Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or related field
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Prior experience working with K-12 students in a special education capacity
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills
- Ability to create a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment
- Familiarity with a range of instructional strategies and behavioral supports
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and adapt lesson plans tailored to individual student abilities and learning styles
- Support students with learning, emotional, and physical challenges, ensuring accessibility and engagement
- Assess students’ strengths and needs, monitor progress, and revise educational strategies as necessary
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to deliver comprehensive support
- Maintain required documentation, including IEPs and progress reports, in accordance with state and federal guidelines
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development activities
- Foster a respectful and encouraging classroom environment that celebrates student achievements
