Key Qualifications:

  • Active Arizona Special Education teaching certificate
  • IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card required
  • Previous experience with high school-aged students, ideally in a resource or inclusive classroom setting
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to individualized instruction and student advocacy
  • Adaptability and resourcefulness in managing a dynamic classroom

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction to high school students, addressing individualized education plans (IEPs) and targeted learning goals
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, families, and support staff to ensure student success across academic and behavioral domains
  • Develop and implement effective lesson plans tailored to varied learning abilities and styles
  • Assess student progress regularly, adjusting strategies as needed to maximize growth, engagement, and independence
  • Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and ongoing training related to best practices in special education
  • Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages self-advocacy and celebrates student achievement
