Key Qualifications:
- Current Alaska state teaching license for Special Education (proof required)
- Valid Type C Certification (provide copies or certification numbers)
- Previous experience in a school setting preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication and collaboration
- Commitment to individualized instruction, IEP development, and student advocacy
- Ready to work in-person; remote/virtual options are not available for this assignment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction to students with varying disabilities in accordance with IEPs
- Assess students’ progress and develop/adapt curriculum to meet their evolving needs
- Collaborate with general educators, related service providers, and families
- Participate actively in IEP meetings and contribute to eligibility and placement processes
- Create a positive, inclusive, and organized classroom atmosphere
- Maintain accurate records and comply with local, state, and federal special education regulations
