Special Education Teacher in Cranston, RI

Key Qualifications:

• Active Special Education Educator Certificate required
• Experience working as a Special Education Teacher, especially with life skills or high-functioning students
• Strong classroom management and collaboration skills
• Ability to individualize instruction and support for diverse learners
• Effective communication and teamwork, especially in classrooms with instructional assistants

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver instruction and support to a caseload of approximately eight special education students
• Collaborate closely with three teaching assistants to ensure an inclusive and structured classroom environment
• Develop, implement, and adapt lesson plans and educational activities to meet IEP goals
• Maintain thorough documentation and communicate progress with families and staff
• Uphold a supportive, patient, and encouraging classroom culture

This opportunity features a standard elementary schedule (8:15 am–3:45 pm) with a 30-minute unpaid lunch.
