Key Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Special Education Teaching License is required
- Fluency in both English and Spanish
- Demonstrated experience working with junior high or high school students in special education
- Proven history of long-term commitment to educational roles
- Strong focus on student development, engagement, and individualized learning plans, rather than solely curriculum delivery
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver specialized instruction tailored to bilingual students in grades 6–8
- Create an inclusive, supportive classroom culture with class sizes of 20 students or less
- Adapt lessons and assessments for diverse learning needs in both languages
- Foster strong student relationships and consistently advocate for student success
- Collaborate with colleagues and families to support holistic student development
- Maintain accurate records, IEP documentation, and progress reports
