Special Education Teacher - Burnsville, Minnesota

Multiple contract opportunities are available for the upcoming school year, focusing on diverse roles supporting a range of student needs. These positions are onsite and span elementary and middle school environments, including FMLA coverage at a middle school, 1st/2nd grade resource at an elementary, early childhood special education, and center-based programs for students requiring significant behavioral support.
Desired Qualifications:
- Possession of a valid Minnesota Teaching Credential in one or more of the following:
- Special Education: Autism Spectrum Disorders
- Special Education: Developmental Disabilities
- Special Education: Early Childhood
- Special Education: Emotional Behavioral Disorders
- Special Education: Learning Disabilities
- Special Education Academic & Behavioral Strategist License (preferred, but not required)
- Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing behavior intervention plans
- Strong instructional practice and classroom management skills
- Excellent record of attendance and reliability
- Ability to collaborate with both general education and special education colleagues
- Proactive in working with and coordinating paraprofessional staff
- Experience working with cross-categorical student populations, especially those with Emotional or Behavioral Disorders, is highly valued
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, individualized instruction aligned with each student’s IEP
- Design and maintain supportive classroom structures and effective routines
- Implement proactive behavioral supports and problem-solve emergent issues
- Liaise with educators, families, and support staff to optimize student progress
- Accurately document student progress and maintain compliance with state and federal regulations
