Special Education Teacher | Brighton, Colorado

Make an impact supporting students with significant needs as a Special Education Teacher at an elementary school serving the Henderson area. This contract position offers hands-on experience in a collaborative educational environment working with a dedicated team and a close-knit group of students.

Key Qualifications:

• Active CDE Special Education Teacher license (required)
• Previous experience working with elementary-aged students with significant support needs preferred
• Solid understanding of IEP development, differentiation, and inclusive classroom strategies
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to develop trust and rapport with students, families, and colleagues

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide instruction and support for a caseload of 10-12 students with significant support needs (SSN) in an onsite elementary setting
• Implement individualized education programs (IEPs) and monitor progress toward goals
• Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff to ensure student success
• Adapt curriculum and instructional methods using evidence-based practices
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment
• Maintain accurate student records, progress reports, and required documentation
• Engage constructively with parents and guardians as part of the educational team

Role Details:

• Contract runs from October 19, 2026, through June 3, 2027
• 34 hours per week, Tuesday through Friday (no school Mondays)
• 7:30 am–4:30 pm schedule ensures your evenings and Mondays remain flexible
