Special Education Teacher - Aurora, Colorado

This is a full-time, contract role running from August 11 to May 21. The focus is on providing targeted, individualized instruction and support to students with a range of learning needs while collaborating closely with colleagues and the IEP team.

Qualifications:

• Active CDE Special Education Teacher License with Generalist Endorsement (5-21) required
  Licensure status must show application and proof if pending; substitute, interim, or temporary licenses are not accepted.
• Extensive experience teaching students with diverse abilities, specifically within special education settings
• In-depth understanding of instructional strategies, differentiation, and Specially Designed Instruction (SDI)
• Proven expertise in the IEP process, from development to implementation and progress monitoring
• Strong collaborative skills with proven success working alongside multidisciplinary teams

Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, standards-based lessons for students on IEPs, adapting content and instruction to individual needs and alternative standards
• Develop, review, and implement IEPs with attention to compliance, accuracy, and meaningful student outcomes
• Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families to maximize student access to curriculum and support
• Utilize data-driven strategies to assess and document student progress; modify plans accordingly
• Maintain thorough, timely records and participate actively in school-wide initiatives and professional learning

This is a traditional, onsite teaching position—virtual or hybrid arrangements are not available.
