Qualifications:

  • Active Colorado CDE Special Education (SPED) License with a Generalist Endorsement (5-21) is required
  • Must possess a Professional Teacher License endorsed in Special Education Generalist
  • Proof of licensure application/endorsement is acceptable if documentation is provided
  • Temporary, substitute, interim, or hybrid/VOCO licenses are not eligible
  • Solid experience in special education settings within schools
  • Ability to thoroughly articulate instructional practices, strategies, and knowledge of specially designed instruction
  • Deep understanding of the IEP process and proven collaboration with IEP teams

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
  • Deliver direct instruction and design lessons aligned to alternative standards
  • Engage with students through differentiated and evidence-based teaching strategies
  • Work closely with other educators, support staff, and specialists to provide a holistic learning environment
  • Maintain accurate documentation, communication with families, and compliance with all regulatory requirements
  • Advocate for students’ access to necessary resources and services
