Special Education Teacher | Arvada, Colorado
Make a meaningful impact as an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher supporting preschool students in a dynamic educational setting. This full-time, contract position offers a fulfilling opportunity to work with an anticipated caseload of up to 15 young learners, helping them develop foundational skills in a supportive environment. The assignment will run from July 31, 2026, through May 26, 2027, with regular hours Monday through Friday in a collaborative and resource-rich setting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university
- Valid Colorado Early Childhood Special Education teaching certification (see options, ages birth through 8 or appropriate grade levels)
- Experience with preschool or early childhood special education preferred
- Proficient in administering and interpreting standardized assessments, with the ability to use results for instructional planning in literacy and math
- Skilled in supporting students with diverse disabilities across in-class and pull-out service models
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to an early childhood caseload of students with special needs
- Assess student needs using standardized and general education assessments to guide programming
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Utilize a continuum of services, offering both in-class and pull-out support
- Document student progress and maintain communication with families and staff
- Participate in planning and team collaboration every Friday
This position requires an onsite presence and involves working at one assigned location. Candidates will complete a background check upon offer acceptance, and most interviews are conducted virtually.
