Special Education Teacher in Andover, MN

Make a real impact supporting students in a center-based elementary setting for the 2026-2027 school year. This contract position provides the opportunity to teach a dynamic class of around 11 students in the special education program, with a focus on emotional or behavioral disorders. Based near Andover, MN, you’ll play a crucial role in designing and implementing individualized plans to help each student reach their fullest potential.

What we’re seeking:

• An active Minnesota PELSB Special Education Teaching License (Tier 1 and Tier 2 considered; Tier 3 and 4 preferred)
• Licensure specifically in Emotional or Behavioral Disorders (EBD)
• Proven commitment to fostering inclusive and supportive learning environments
• Experience in developing and adapting curriculum for students with diverse needs
• Strong organizational and communication skills to collaborate with school staff and families
• Dedication to staying current with best practices and compliance in special education

Key responsibilities:

• Provide instruction and support to a caseload of approximately 11 elementary students in a center-based classroom
• Create, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
• Maintain thorough documentation and comply with state and federal guidelines
• Offer behavioral and academic interventions tailored to each student’s unique strengths and needs
• Engage actively with families to support student growth and progress

This contract runs from ASAP through June 3, 2027, with a full-time, 40-hour week. The position is located on-site (virtual placements are not considered), and provides the chance to build lasting impact over several years in a supportive setting.
