Special Education Teacher | Andover, Kansas

These contract roles require on-site presence for the entire school year, from August 11, 2026, through May 19, 2027. Successful candidates will coordinate and implement individualized education plans for students with diverse and significant needs, contributing to a supportive learning environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid low-incidence special education teaching license (must be current and included with your application).
- Experience teaching students with significant disabilities preferred.
- Ability to collaborate with instructional staff, support personnel, and families.
- Strong organization and communication skills.
- Adaptability and creativity in instructional approaches.
- Must be available to work in person; no virtual option is available.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction based on IEPs and student strengths.
- Develop detailed lesson plans and modify curriculum for accessibility.
- Manage a caseload of about 10 students, ensuring personalized attention and support.
- Conduct assessments and track progress, making data-driven adjustments to instruction.
- Facilitate positive and effective communication with parents and guardians.
