Special Education Teacher - Allentown, Pennsylvania

Key Qualifications:

• Active Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate with Special Education endorsement for middle school students
• Demonstrated experience working with students on the autism spectrum, particularly at the middle school level
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families
• Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt instruction based on students’ unique needs
• Compassion, patience, and skill in de-escalation and behavior management

Your Responsibilities:

• Create and deliver instruction for middle school students in an autistic support program
• Maintain a structured classroom environment that encourages growth, independence, and academic achievement
• Collaborate with a team to develop and execute IEP goals
• Track student progress and modify teaching strategies accordingly
• Engage in regular communication with families and related service providers
• Support and mentor paraprofessionals assigned to your classroom

Enjoy a set schedule: 7:15am – 2:45pm, totaling 35 hours per week with a 30-minute unpaid lunch.
