School Social Worker - Saint Charles, IL
Embark on an exciting contract opportunity as a School Social Worker supporting elementary students in a vibrant educational community near Saint Charles, IL. This important role spans Kindergarten through 5th grade and is perfect for someone who thrives on making a daily difference in children's lives. The position offers an immediate start and continues through November 4th, 2026, with the potential for extension.
This onsite, full-time position runs from 8:00 AM to 3:35 PM, offering the chance to collaborate closely with educators, families, and fellow support staff. You will play a key role in fostering students’ social, emotional, and academic growth, while tackling challenges and celebrating successes every day.
Qualifications:
- Hold a valid Illinois School Social Worker license (IL SSW) and PEL
- Demonstrated prior experience working in a school setting
- Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
- Ability to assess student needs and develop targeted intervention strategies
- Excellent organizational and communication abilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling to students in grades K-5
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to address students’ diverse needs
- Develop and implement intervention plans for students requiring additional support
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the creation of supportive educational programs
- Deliver crisis intervention as needed and connect families with community resources
- Maintain thorough documentation in compliance with school and state requirements
