Social Worker in Orland Park, IL

A contract opportunity is available for a dedicated School Social Worker to support elementary students in grades 3 through 5. In this essential role, you’ll play a key part in fostering positive school environments and helping young learners navigate academic and social challenges.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution
• Valid state licensure or eligibility as a School Social Worker
• Prior experience working with elementary-aged children preferred
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Ability to build rapport with students, staff, and families
• Familiarity with best practices in crisis intervention and counseling in a school setting

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct social-emotional support to 3rd to 5th grade students, addressing issues such as anxiety, behavior, and peer relationships
• Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to promote positive coping strategies
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to create strategies that foster student well-being and success
• Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and assist with the development of behavioral intervention plans
• Serve as a liaison connecting families to community resources or mental health services when needed
• Maintain accurate student records and ensure confidentiality in compliance with school policies and regulations
