School Speech Language Pathologist - Kansas City, MO
Make an impact supporting students’ communication skills in a dynamic elementary school environment. This contracted speech-language opportunity focuses on delivering high-quality services to a varied caseload, working with elementary-aged learners and collaborating with a passionate educational community. The assignment begins as soon as possible and extends through early December, with the possibility for continuation.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Missouri SLP or SLPA license required
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred
- School-based SLP or SLPA experience highly desirable
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt and collaborate within a team-oriented setting
Primary Duties:
- Provide direct speech and language therapy to students in 1st, 2nd, 5th grades, as well as transitional and cross-categorical classrooms
- Address the varied needs of a caseload that includes support consults, in-class language group instruction (every Tuesday), and individualized service delivery for select kindergarten, 3rd grade, and elementary students
- Participate in designated school routines, including morning car rider duty and afternoon dismissal support for second grade and kindergarten groups
- Document and track progress, collaborating with staff and families to foster student growth
- Attend virtual meetings and maintain consultation with the educational team as needed
