Speech and Language Pathologist in Detroit, MI
Make a genuine impact by supporting elementary students in an ASD setting during the 2026–2027 school year! We are seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide onsite services for approximately 25 students in a dynamic and supportive school environment near Detroit, MI. This is a contract opportunity focused on fostering communication skills and helping children reach important developmental milestones.
Essential Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted SLP license in Michigan
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) required
- Experience working within school settings, preferably in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) classrooms
- Strong understanding of evidence-based assessment and intervention strategies for elementary-age students
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educational teams, families, and other therapy professionals
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, evaluate, and diagnose speech and language disorders in an elementary ASD caseload
- Create individualized speech therapy treatment plans tailored to each student’s unique needs
- Deliver direct and consultative speech-language pathology services onsite
- Document progress, prepare reports, and participate in IEP meetings
- Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and families to ensure a holistic approach
- Serve as an advocate for students’ communication needs within the school setting
