Bring your expertise in sign language interpretation to make a real difference in a student's life this school year. Engage fully onsite, supporting a high school student in an adaptive classroom who utilizes a wheelchair and requires comprehensive communication services to access their learning environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Hold an EIPA score of 3.5 or above (candidates with a lower score are considered on a case-by-case basis)
- Certification or licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter
- Experience in educational settings, particularly working with students with special needs, is preferred
- Familiarity with adaptive technologies and classroom accommodations is a plus
- Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
Responsibilities:
- Provide in-person sign language interpretation and communication facilitation for a high school student throughout the school day
- Collaborate closely with SPED teachers and support staff to ensure all academic and social situations are accessible
- Contribute to a positive, encouraging classroom environment
- Support the student's individual needs, including those related to mobility and classroom participation
- Document services provided and communicate student progress as needed
