The ideal candidate will possess:

• Valid EIPA certification with a score of 3.0 or higher (required)
• Proven experience or training as a Sign Language Interpreter, preferably in a K-12 or educational setting
• Strong knowledge of American Sign Language and educational interpreting practices
• Commitment to professionalism, confidentiality, and inclusion
• Ability to adapt to the needs of diverse elementary students and work collaboratively with educators

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing onsite interpretation between spoken English and ASL in classrooms and school-related settings
• Assisting teachers and staff in understanding and supporting communication needs
• Fostering a supportive, engaging learning atmosphere
• Maintaining accurate records and upholding ethical standards for interpreters
• Collaborating with the educational team to ensure students’ needs are met

This is a full-time, onsite commitment, Monday through Friday, 7:45 AM to 3:15 PM, serving an elementary caseload.
