Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Denver, CO

Make a real difference supporting students in a dynamic educational environment as a Sign Language Interpreter in the greater Denver, CO area. This full-time, full-school-year contract position offers the opportunity to work with both general education and special education students, ranging from mild to severe needs. As an itinerant interpreter, you’ll have the chance to collaborate with teams and students across a variety of school sites, ensuring that all learners have full access to instruction and communication.

Qualifications & Required Experience:

• Valid CDE Authorization to work as an educational sign language interpreter in the state (requirement: EIPA score of 3.5 or higher)
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL), with strong interpreting skills for both mainstream and special education settings
• Flexibility to travel between multiple schools as an itinerant interpreter
• Experience collaborating with both instructional and support staff in a school environment is highly valued
• Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive atmosphere for students with diverse needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide on-site sign language interpretation for students in various grade levels and classroom settings, including both general education and special education environments
• Work closely with teachers and support staff to adapt communication to students’ language levels and educational goals
• Maintain ethical standards and confidentiality as outlined by state and district policies
• Effectively manage a rotating schedule across multiple school locations, ensuring reliable support for each assigned student
