Position Type: Full-Time | School-Based | 2026–2027 School Year

Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and student-focused School Social Worker to join a dynamic school district in Detroit, MI for the 2026–2027 school year. This role is perfect for a professional passionate about supporting students’ emotional well-being, improving access to resources, and fostering a positive school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide individual and group counseling services to students
Support students with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges
Conduct social histories and contribute to multidisciplinary evaluations
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop intervention strategies
Participate in IEP and 504 meetings
Connect students and families with community resources and services
Assist with crisis intervention and conflict resolution
Promote a safe and inclusive school climate

Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW)
Valid Michigan School Social Worker certification (or eligibility)
State licensure (LMSW preferred)
Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred
