School Registered Nurse (RN) in Lynn, MA

Make a meaningful impact on students’ lives in a specialized contract nursing role serving young learners with medical needs during their morning school bus route. This unique position offers a chance to work closely with students and support their safety and well-being in transit. With structured onboarding and collaboration, you'll play a vital role in delivering compassionate school nursing care each day.

What you’ll bring:

• Active Massachusetts LPN or RN license
• At least one year of experience working with children, preferably with medically complex or special needs students
• Confidence in monitoring and managing chronic conditions, seizures, G-tubes, oxygen needs, and more
• Familiarity with emergency medications, such as Valtoco and EpiPen
• Skills in suctioning, O2 saturation monitoring, and safe wheelchair transport
• Professionalism, reliability, and strong communication skills

What you’ll do:

• Board and accompany students on the morning bus route, ensuring health and safety from school pick-up through drop-off
• Proactively monitor five students with individual care needs, including seizure disorders, g-tubes, various allergies, and respiratory challenges
• Respond quickly to medical needs or emergencies with sound clinical judgement
• Collaborate with school nurses to review transportation and student-specific care plans prior to assignment
• Participate in orientation and route-shadowing with experienced nurses, plus spend time at the school to become familiar with students
• Maintain clear documentation and communicate observations as required
