School-Based Physical Therapist - Orland Park, Illinois
Make an immediate impact in an educational community as a skilled Physical Therapist on a contract basis. In this pivotal role, you’ll work with students to help them achieve greater mobility, independence, and participation in the classroom. Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Physical Therapy license in the state of Illinois
- Experience providing PT services in a school environment preferred
- Strong understanding of pediatric physical therapy interventions
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to develop and implement IEP goals tailored to student needs
- Energy, adaptability, and a passion for supporting children in academic settings
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess students to determine physical therapy needs and develop individualized treatment plans
- Deliver direct therapy services to students in accordance with IEP/504 plans
- Educate staff and families on strategies to support motor development and mobility in the school setting
- Document therapy sessions, monitor progress, and adjust interventions as necessary
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other professionals to create inclusive learning environments
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute expertise to planning and goal setting
