School Physical Therapist | Newark, New Jersey
Embrace a fulfilling opportunity working as a Physical Therapist in a dynamic, district-wide setting covering multiple schools and grade levels (K-12). This contract, full-time role is located near Newark, NJ, and runs from September 4, 2026, through June 25, 2027. You’ll enjoy a steady schedule of 35 hours per week, from 8:30AM to 3:15PM, providing vital support to students across several campuses.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid New Jersey Physical Therapist license
- Experience working in school settings, preferably K-12 or with pediatric populations
- Ability to fulfill New Jersey onboarding requirements, including a TB test, physical exam, and fingerprinting for both agency and school district purposes
- Comfortable participating in virtual (Zoom) interviews as part of the selection process
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Organizational skills for working across multiple schools within the district
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver physical therapy services to students, supporting their ability to access curriculum and participate in classroom activities
- Assess, plan, and implement individualized treatment plans following IEP guidelines
- Evaluate students’ progress and document outcomes thoroughly and consistently
- Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and parents to support each student’s objectives
- Travel between assigned schools within the district as scheduled
