Instructional Assistant - West Warwick, RI

Step into an impactful support role, making a difference each day as you work closely with elementary students in an intensive classroom setting. This contract opportunity, beginning as soon as possible and extending through mid-June 2027, puts you at the heart of a welcoming school community.

You’ll be an essential part of a dynamic team, collaborating with six fellow paraprofessionals to provide instructional, behavioral, and personal care support for a diverse group of 11 students in grades K-3. Each student brings unique strengths and needs, including those related to language differences and autism spectrum disorder. Your adaptability and empathy will contribute to a positive, nurturing learning environment.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

• Prior background working in a school environment, especially supporting students with disabilities
• Meets all requirements set forth by RI DOE for paraprofessionals
• Comfort and experience assisting with toileting and diaper changing
• Collaborative, adaptable, and positive approach to working as part of a multi-TA team

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized academic and behavioral support as directed by teaching staff
• Assist students with daily living activities, including toileting and hygiene support
• Contribute to group activities, reinforcing classroom routines and engagement
• Collaborate with other paraprofessionals to ensure cohesive support
• Support students in achieving IEP goals and displaying positive social interactions
