Step into a dynamic contract role supporting students as an Autism Support Interventionist (ASI) or Emotional Support Interventionist (ESI) for the 2026–2027 school year. These hands-on, behavior-focused positions are crucial for helping students with autism or emotional/behavioral needs reach their academic, social, and communication milestones. Assignments are based in Carbon & Lehigh Counties, with limited hours for Opening Day and Summer Academy starting August 10, 2026, and regular school hours resuming in late August. Openings are filled on a first-come, first-served basis and subject to change.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, ABA, Human Services, or a related field preferred (Associate’s degree accepted with at least one year relevant experience; three years preferred)
  • Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, emotional or behavioral disabilities, or in special education, behavioral health, or crisis intervention settings
  • Strong behavior management and de-escalation abilities
  • Calm, consistent approach in structured classroom environments
  • Collaborative, professional, and reliable demeanor
  • Basic computer proficiency for documentation
  • Must submit a completed supervisor reference check

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct, individualized support for students with ASD or emotional/behavioral challenges
  • Follow and implement Behavior Intervention Plans and trauma-informed practices
  • Assist with classroom routines, communication, and social skills
  • Collect and document behavioral and academic data for IEP progress
  • Support students with personal care needs as necessary
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment, responding effectively to behavioral escalations
