School Occupational Therapist - Waverly, Virginia

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Master’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
• Active state licensure as an Occupational Therapist
• Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and relevant documentation practices
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to adapt therapeutic techniques to diverse student populations and ages
• Organized, flexible, and able to effectively manage a varied caseload
• Passion for facilitating student success and participation in the educational environment

Responsibilities:

• Deliver targeted school-based occupational therapy to a caseload of approximately 24 students each week
• Assess students’ functional abilities and develop individualized treatment plans to meet their unique needs
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student learning outcomes
• Document progress and maintain records according to regulatory and district requirements
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal-setting processes
• Provide consultative support and training for staff to implement accommodations and strategies in the classroom
• Maintain compliance with state and federal guidelines
