Step into a rewarding contract role supporting students as a key member of a dynamic school-based occupational therapy team. This position is located within a respected district on the western side of Wake County, NC. You’ll collaborate with educators and families to impact students across elementary, middle, and high school campuses, operating within a progressive workload model that adapts to real-time demands.

Key Qualifications:

  • Must hold an active Occupational Therapy license in North Carolina (NCBOT)
  • Post-grad degree in Occupational Therapy required; master’s degree preferred
  • Mandatory school-based OT experience; background in North Carolina schools highly valued
  • Skilled in ECATS documentation and managing IEPs
  • Comfortable working within a workload model and discussing caseload needs
  • Proficiency with Sensory Processing Measure–2 (SPM-2) and Sensory Profile 2 assessments
  • Strong grasp of direct OT evaluation, functional skill assessment, and interpreting results in the context of state educational standards
  • Experienced with standardized occupational therapy assessments for school-aged populations
  • Must complete DCDEE fingerprinting, Wake district background check, secure NPI number, and register with NC Tracks

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver occupational therapy services to students, ranging from elementary to high school age
  • Conduct comprehensive OT evaluations, including screenings and documentation of services provided
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Partner closely with multidisciplinary school teams, parents, and administrators
  • Maintain organized, timely documentation and contribute to monthly workload reassessment meetings
