School Occupational Therapist - Apex, North Carolina

Bring your expertise as an Occupational Therapist to support student success in a collaborative, school-based environment on the western side of Wake County. This contract opportunity involves working across elementary, middle, and high school settings, supporting a diverse caseload on a year-round academic calendar. You’ll play a vital role in assessing, planning, and delivering therapy services that empower students to achieve their educational goals.

Highlights of what we’re seeking:

• School-based occupational therapy experience required; North Carolina (NC) school experience strongly preferred
• Experience with ECATS and IEPs essential
• NC Board of Occupational Therapy (NCBOT) license required
• Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy preferred
• Proficiency administering and interpreting standardized assessments used in schools; must be adept with Sensory Processing Measure–2 (SPM-2) and Sensory Profile 2
• In-depth knowledge of integrating OT strategies within educational programs and state standards
• Comfortable working under a workload model with monthly reassessment
• Ability to obtain NPI number and register with NC Tracks before start
• Required to complete DCDEE fingerprinting and district background screening

Your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting individualized motor screenings and comprehensive OT evaluations in the school setting
• Documenting services and collaborating on IEPs, ensuring compliance with district and state guidelines
• Interpreting assessment results to recommend and implement classroom-based interventions
• Consulting with educators and families to facilitate student participation and independence in school routines

This role is full-time (typically 37.5-40 hours per week), following a workload model that’s regularly reviewed for fairness and balance.
