Science Teacher in Cicero, IL

Located close to Cicero, IL, this on-site role involves teaching at the junior high level with a firm schedule of 33.75 hours per week through May 21, 2027.

Your expertise in general education and science—with preference for endorsement in health science, chemistry, anatomy, or similar—is highly valued. This role calls for confident classroom management and creative lesson planning to keep middle-grade learners engaged with real-world health science concepts.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid teaching license and Professional Educator License (PEL) required (substitute licensure not accepted)
• Demonstrated classroom experience in general education and science subjects
• Health science endorsement preferred; backgrounds in chemistry, anatomy, or related disciplines welcome
• Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
• Commitment to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and motivating classroom environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive health science curriculum to junior high students
• Foster student understanding of concepts in health, science, and wellness
• Assess student progress and adapt instruction as needed for varying abilities
• Collaborate with educators, staff, and caregivers to support student engagement and achievement
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and educational outcomes
• Participate in required trainings and school initiatives as needed
