Teacher of the Deaf | Anderson, Indiana
Make a meaningful difference for students with hearing loss by leveraging your specialized expertise as a Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher. This consulting position involves supporting a diverse K–12 student population, offering services on a contract basis either onsite or remotely. You’ll play an essential role in ensuring that all learners receive equitable access to education, working closely with school teams to innovate and adapt strategies.
Qualifications and Experience Desired:
- Valid or eligible Indiana Exceptional Needs: Deaf and Hard of Hearing license
- Experience as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing specialist or teacher
- Strong knowledge of best practices in DHH education and IEP development
- Ability to collaborate with educational teams, families, and service providers
- Comfort in both in-person and virtual environments
- Passion for fostering inclusion and supporting students across all grade levels
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide consultation and guidance for the educational team regarding DHH students’ unique needs
- Collaborate in the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Offer recommendations for classroom accommodations, technology, and resources
- Serve as a liaison with staff and families to facilitate effective communication and student advocacy
- Participate in meetings, assessments, and ongoing planning as required
- Adapt to service delivery model (onsite or virtual) as determined by school needs
