School Counselor in Newport, NH

Exciting opportunity for a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor to make a real impact with students for the 2026-27 school year. This contract role is designed for a skilled professional who can provide targeted support for a small caseload, maximizing the chance for meaningful connections and progress. Key Qualifications:

• Hold an active NH Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) license
• Demonstrated experience supporting students diagnosed with selective mutism
• Previous school-based counseling experience preferred
• Strong documentation and interpersonal communication skills
• Commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive educational environment

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide direct counseling services to three enrolled students, focusing on selective mutism and related needs
• Complete approximately six hours of direct service weekly, including one full, eight-hour day on-site
• Maintain up-to-date records and complete administrative documentation as required
• Attend meetings with faculty and support staff to review progress and coordinate student care
• Cultivate a positive, trusting relationship with students, families, and school personnel
