Key Qualifications:

  • Valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
  • Previous experience working in school settings or with pediatric populations is preferred
  • Familiarity with K-12 individualized education programs (IEPs) and relevant documentation
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with occupational therapists, teachers, and school staff
  • Must be comfortable working onsite in an educational environment

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support occupational therapists in delivering therapy services to K-12 students
  • Implement treatment plans tailored to individual students’ needs as directed by the supervising OT
  • Document student progress and maintain accurate records in accordance with school policies
  • Collaborate with educators and parents to support students’ functional skills in the classroom environment
  • Adapt activities and materials to promote students’ participation and independence
  • Contribute to meetings and multidisciplinary team efforts regarding student development
