This onsite, contract opportunity spans the full academic year, providing crucial support and adapted PE programming for students with varying needs. As part of an itinerant caseload, you’ll work across multiple sites, collaborating closely with faculty to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid California teaching credential required
  • Prior experience as an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher preferred
  • Strong understanding of individualized education programs (IEPs) and modified PE curriculum
  • Ability to adapt physical activities to meet the unique abilities of each student
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Willingness to work exclusively onsite during the assignment period

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement adaptive physical education lessons in alignment with IEP goals
  • Assess student skills and develop personalized activities to promote physical development
  • Consult with classroom teachers, occupational therapists, and other educational staff
  • Travel between assigned school sites as part of an itinerant caseload
  • Document student progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP meetings
  • Foster a supportive, inclusive, and safe environment for all students

This 184-day contract begins August 11, 2026 and concludes on June 4, 2027, with a consistent 35-hour workweek. The position offers competitive pay between $63 and $67 per hour.
