Position Overview:
We are excited to welcome a skilled and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to our team in Houston, TX. In this role, you will provide essential in-person and virtual therapy to enhance our students' communication skills. You will also oversee two SLP Assistants who will be working directly with students at various campuses while managing caseloads across multiple schools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and mentor two SLP Assistants delivering in-person therapy at elementary schools
- Manage cases at two elementary campuses, ensuring high-quality service and tracking student progress
- Supervise a third elementary campus, providing guidance without case management duties
- Administer and manage one middle school caseload, which includes:
- Collaborating with SLP Assistants to draft Present Levels of Academic Achievement and Functional Performance (PLAAFPs)
- Preparing and writing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Recommending appropriate service durations for students
- Conducting initial referrals and performing speech screenings as needed
- Completing ARD paperwork and working closely with educators and families
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current Texas SLP license
- Previous experience in a school environment is preferred
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
