Special Education Teacher - Full-Time Opportunity in Limon, CO

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with special needs? We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for a full-time position in Limon, Colorado. You’ll have the chance to work in either a high school or elementary program with students who have diverse needs, including multiple disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and autism. Join us and help create a positive and supportive environment for these exceptional students!

Responsibilities:

• Teach and implement a functional academics curriculum for students with various disabilities
• Write IEPs, run IEP meetings, and monitor student progress
• Collaborate with general education teachers to modify assignments as needed
• Supervise and support 4-6 paraprofessionals assisting students in general education classes
• Support students with feeding, changing, and using AAC devices as needed
• Develop and follow behavior plans for students requiring additional behavioral support

Qualifications:

• Valid Colorado Special Education Teacher License required
• Experience with multiple disabilities, autism, and nonverbal students preferred
• Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team

Position Details:

• Classroom: High School or Elementary Program (K-5)
• Hours per Week: 34-37 hours
• Weekly Pay: Competitive pay based on experience
• Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package including Dental, Medical, Vision, and 401K
• Contract Duration: January 6, 2025 - May 23, 2025
