We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team for the upcoming school year 2023-2024 in Baltimore, Maryland. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing quality education and support to students with diverse learning needs, ranging from Pre-K to 12th grade.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs
Adapt and modify general education curriculum to meet the unique learning needs of students
Provide instruction and support in various academic subjects, including but not limited to reading, writing, math, and social skills
Assess student progress and use data to inform instructional strategies and interventions
Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure a cohesive and inclusive learning environment
Communicate and collaborate with parents/guardians regarding student progress and goals
Implement behavior management strategies and techniques to promote a positive and supportive classroom environment
Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in special education

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
Valid teaching certification in Special Education (Maryland certification is required)
Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, preferably in a Pre-K to 12th-grade setting
Knowledge of IEP development and implementation
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students with special needs
