About the Job

We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join a new Emotional Disabilities (ED) Behavior Program for grades 4-5 in Sumter, SC. This role involves supporting students with emotional and behavioral challenges, helping them thrive academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students

• Provide instruction in both academic and behavioral skills

• Support classroom behavior management using the new behavior program

• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and staff to monitor and track student progress

• Maintain a positive, structured classroom environment

• Participate in IEP meetings and parent conferences

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field

• ED certification (required)

• South Carolina teaching certification (required)

• Experience working with students with emotional disabilities

• Knowledge of effective behavior management strategies
