Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction to students with visual impairments.
- Develop and update IEPs with clear, measurable objectives.
- Communicate student progress to parents per Pupil Progression Plan.
- Assess and evaluate students’ academic, social, and motor development every 9 weeks.
- Track and document each student's progress to maintain individual files.
- Ensure all instructional minutes are met as outlined in each student’s IEP.
Qualifications:
- Special Education Teacher certification in accordance with Louisiana Department of Education Bulletin 746 (Revised).
- Experience as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI).
- Ability to assess students' strengths and weaknesses across multiple domains.
- Strong communication skills to engage with parents and staff.
- Experience with IEP development and implementation.
Position Details:
- Classroom: Reserve, LA.
- Hours per Week: Full-Time (up to 40 hours per week).
- Weekly Pay: Competitive pay based on experience.
- Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package including dental, medical, vision, and 401K plan.
- Contract Duration: ASAP through May 23, 2025, with an option to extend for summer school and the 2024-2025 school year.
