Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction to students with visual impairments.
• Develop and update IEPs with clear, measurable objectives.
• Communicate student progress to parents per Pupil Progression Plan.
• Assess and evaluate students’ academic, social, and motor development every 9 weeks.
• Track and document each student's progress to maintain individual files.
• Ensure all instructional minutes are met as outlined in each student’s IEP.

Qualifications:

• Special Education Teacher certification in accordance with Louisiana Department of Education Bulletin 746 (Revised).
• Experience as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI).
• Ability to assess students' strengths and weaknesses across multiple domains.
• Strong communication skills to engage with parents and staff.
• Experience with IEP development and implementation.

Position Details:

• Classroom: Reserve, LA.
• Hours per Week: Full-Time (up to 40 hours per week).
• Weekly Pay: Competitive pay based on experience.
• Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package including dental, medical, vision, and 401K plan.
• Contract Duration: ASAP through May 23, 2025, with an option to extend for summer school and the 2024-2025 school year.
